Portfolio Development for College & High School Applications

A portfolio development focus is designed for students applying to competitive art programs at the college or high school level. Whether you’re aiming for top-tier art schools like Cooper Union, RISD, Pratt, SVA, Carnegie Mellon, FIT, or SAIC, or submitting a portfolio as supplemental material to liberal arts colleges, I can help you build a body of work that meets institutional expectations and reflects your unique voice.

Most schools require 10–20 finished pieces that demonstrate both technical skill and conceptual depth. Crafting a portfolio of this caliber can be a rigorous and often overwhelming process. I offer individualized support to help you:

  • Understand what top schools are looking for
  • Generate and execute strong portfolio pieces
  • Experiment across materials and formats
  • Refine technical skills and visual language
  • Develop artist statements and documentation
  • Navigate the full application process, from strategy to submission

In addition to college-level support, I also work with middle school students applying to arts-focused high schools, including:

  • LaGuardia High School
  • Frank Sinatra School of the Arts
  • High School of Art and Design
  • Edward R. Murrow High School

Whether you’re preparing for a career in the arts or just beginning to explore your potential, portfolio development lessons provide focused, personalized guidance every step of the way.
