About Me

My name is Delia Cadman. I am a practicing artist and independent arts educator based in New York City.

I hold a BFA from Cooper Union (2021) and am currently pursuing an MFA in Sculpture at Bard College. I have nearly a decade of experience teaching art to students of all ages, from kindergarteners to adults, in a wide range of settings, including schools, museums, and private instruction.

My teaching experience includes:

  • Drawing, painting, and sculpture
  • Portfolio development and critique
  • Technical skills-building classes
  • Art pedagogy and curriculum design

Alumni of my classes have gone on to attend top art and design programs, including Cooper Union, RISD, Pratt, SVA, SAIC, FIT, and Carnegie Mellon.

Teaching Philosophy

I take a student-centered, progressively minded approach to teaching. My work always begins with you, your interests, your goals, and your creative impulses. Rather than imposing a rigid curriculum or stylistic expectations, I focus on providing targeted tools and personalized guidance to help you grow into your voice as an artist. Whether you're a complete beginner or preparing for advanced study, I meet you where you are and support you in building a sustainable, empowered artistic practice to suit your lifestyle.

Artistic Practice and Curation

In addition to teaching, I maintain a rigorous interdisciplinary studio practice. I am also the founder and lead organizer of CLUBLAND COUNTERFEIT, an experimental gallery project based in Greenpoint focused on transgressive forms and community exchange.
